Lexus has launched the updated ES 300h in India with a base price tag of Rs 59.71 lakh (ex-showroom). The locally produced luxury sedan is now around Rs 4 lakh dearer than its recent forerunner, but you do get a few upgrades for that increased asking price. We’ve broken down everything new on the Lexus, but before that, take a look at the car’s variant-wise prices.
Variants |
Old Price |
New Price |
Difference |
ES 300h Exquisite |
Rs 56.65 lakh |
Rs 59.71 lakh |
+ Rs 3.06 lakh |
ES 300h Luxury |
Rs 61.85 lakh |
Rs 65.81 lakh |
+ Rs 3.96 lakh |
‘Barely noticeable’ would be the correct terminology here as the overall silhouette of the luxury sedan is similar, with only minor changes in sight, like the new Lexus logo on the front grille and tailgate.
The fundamental focus of the update seems to be to improve the practicality quotient of the cabin. Lexus has updated the central console area, making it more spacious in the process, while improving the accessibility around it. There are a couple of new features, which brings us to the next point.
The update packs new features, including voice recognition that offers handsfree access to some features. The revised equipment list now includes wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto as standard. The luxury sedan also gets a new ‘profile function’ that enables the user to create a profile with personalised multimedia settings through a host of customisation options.

Lexus has refrained from making any mechanical changes as the ES 300h continues with its self-charging hybrid power unit, comprising a 2.5-litre petrol engine, that produces a total combined output of 218PS. It is geared using a CVT that delivers power to the front wheels only.
The updated luxury sedan is offered in two trims: Exquisite and Luxury, ranging between Rs 59.71 lakh and Rs 65.81 lakh (ex-showroom). It is Lexus’ answer to German sedans like the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, and Mercedes E-Class that dominate the segment.
